Six axes, the same rule for every speaker. This is our judgment, not the manufacturer's.

This is the speaker for arriving somewhere and staying. Forty-five watts, twenty-four hours on one charge, IP68, survives a metre drop, and a power bank inside that will refill a phone twice over. If the plan is a whole afternoon in a park with other people, nothing else on this page competes.
It also weighs 998 grams, and you carry that on your back the whole way there. That is the trade, and it is the reason this half of the site is split from the handlebar half: a kilo does not go on a bike.
Credit where it is due — the battery claim here is the cleanest on the site. The headline says 28 hours; the same bullet immediately explains it is 24 plus 4 from Playtime Boost; and Amazon's table says 24. Three places, one honest number. The bullet even prints «*Lab conditions apply» next to the drop rating, which almost nobody does.
The nonsense is milder than usual. «Mounting Type: Floor Standing», two rows below a box-contents list that includes a strap. «Speaker Size: 9.4 inches», which is the length of the enclosure. And 45 W in a catalogue where the same brand claims 180 W for a speaker you can close your hand around.
Anything marked «—» is a figure the manufacturer doesn't publish. We don't fill those in by eye.

| The 28 hours are 24, and JBL says so | «Keep the mood alive for 24 hours on a single charge—then squeeze out 4 more with JBL Playtime Boost». So the headline 28 is 24 plus a boost mode. Amazon's table agrees with the 24, which makes this the rare case where the table is the honest half of the page. |
|---|---|
| «Mounting Type: Floor Standing», and there is a strap in the box | «Built-In Media: 1 x JBL Charge 6, 1 x Strap». The box contents list the strap two rows above the field that says it does not exist. |
| 45 watts, in a catalogue that also says 180 | The same brand's Clip 5 and Go 4 both claim 180 W for speakers a fifth of this size. 45 W is plausible here. The field is still unusable for comparing anything. |
| «Speaker Size: 9.4 inches» | The speaker is 9 inches long. That is the enclosure, not a driver. |
| «Frequency Response: 20 KHz» | A single number, top of range. |
| IP68 and 1 m drops | The strongest water rating of the backpack group, with a stated drop height — and the bullet adds «*Lab conditions apply», which is a disclaimer almost nobody bothers to print. |
| It charges your phone | A real power bank, and with a 24-hour pack behind it there is something to spare. This is the reason to carry a kilo. |
| Signal-to-noise ratio | 80 dB, published. |
A summary of the reviews published on Amazon.com as of 2026-09-09.
4.6 out of 5 from 6,285 ratings on a young listing. Buyers talk about volume, battery and the power bank, in that order. The complaints are the weight and the price against the Charge 5, plus a handful reporting that the AI Sound Boost is hard to tell apart from having it off.
