Six axes, the same rule for every model. This is our judgment, not the manufacturer's.
| Battery life | Not published by the manufacturer | |
|---|---|---|
| Cancelling | 0/10 | |
| Sound | 5/10 | |
| Comfort | 6/10 | |
| Calls | 5/10 | |
| Value | 9/10 | |
Two places above this on Amazon's ranking sit the AirPods Pro 3 at $199. Third is this: a plastic earbud on a cable, $14.88, 18,460 ratings at 4.5.
Read the fitting note before anything else. This is the Lightning version. iPhone 15 and later use USB-C, so if your phone is from 2023 onwards these will not plug into it. Apple sells a USB-C EarPod separately; it is not this listing.
The spec table is the shortest of any model in this comparison — fourteen rows, and the only number that describes the sound is «Impedance: 23 ohm». No driver size, no frequency response. It also states that the product takes «Nonstandard Battery batteries», which is a field somebody filled in without looking at what they were selling: there is nothing to charge in a passive earbud.
For $14.88 none of that is an argument against buying them. It is an argument for not believing spec tables.
Anything marked «—» is a figure the manufacturer doesn't publish. We don't fill those in by eye.

| The battery field, on a product with no battery | Amazon's table says «Nonstandard Battery batteries required». EarPods are passive. There is no battery in them, standard or otherwise. |
|---|---|
| What the table does not say | No driver size, no frequency response, no sensitivity. The only electrical figure on the whole page is the impedance: 23 ohm. |
| The weight is the packet | The table gives 1.13 ounces and dimensions of 2.67 x 0.82 x 2.66 inches. Those are the dimensions of the retail box, so that is what the weight belongs to. We leave the weight box empty rather than publish the packaging. |
| Lightning, not USB-C | iPhone 15 and later have a USB-C port. These do not fit them. |
A summary of the reviews published on Amazon.com as of 2026-09-08.
4.5 out of 5 from 18,460 ratings. Buyers praise the fit and the fact that they simply work; the complaints are almost entirely about cable durability at the plug and about people who bought the wrong connector. That second complaint is worth taking as a warning.

4.1 out of 5 — the lowest score of any earbud in this comparison, and the only one under 4.2.
Amazon's #2 earbud, and its listing does not state the battery life anywhere.
